STORY
Tea Medicine is a book that aims to recreate what it is like to be a tea apprentice. Guiding readers to explore a journey through Tea, each chapter is a session full of Tea wisdom and a lesson with suggestions for practice. Published in 2014 this book has already touched the lives of many readers. I (Erika Houle) am friends with the author and was inspired to create the audiobook to make the lessons accessible to a wider audience.

In the autumn of 2018, I began teaching at an arts college that serves students from a wide variety of backgrounds. In the first few months a music student with cerebral palsy who was struggling with the confines of an educational institution ended up in my office often. His disability helped him become a highly adaptable and inventive artist, but he struggled with unhealthy lifestyle choices. As we bonded, I shared my Tea practice with him and he took to it immediately. He noted the healing effects of Tea right away. As he learned the brewing form his posture improved and his face lit up.

I wanted to share my favorite book on Tea with the student, but couldn't as it was only available in print form and he is legally blind. Since I knew the author, I decided to reach out and see if we could turn it into an audiobook. In the spirit of Tea and Global Tea Hut , we decided to make it a community project. Each chapter is narrated by a different Tea community member. Wu De, the author, narrated each introductory chapter. All of the narrators donated their time and labor.

WHAT WE NEED TO FUND
We have all of the chapters recorded (sample below), so now need to have them edited and mixed. We have a professional sound engineer on board to complete the project. Since it was recorded by 23 different narrators, the professional polish and assembly by a sound engineer will honor the efforts of everyone involved and create a pleasing final product.

TIMELINE
Our goal is to have the audiobook edited by early summer 2020 and ready for release autumn 2020.
