G'day, we're Charlie and El, and we're raising critical funding for our local Nyrang Creek Rural Fire Brigade to purchase much needed equipment to safely and effectively fight fires in our local area. Our local brigade is volunteer based and relies on outside funding to perform a service that displays the best of Australian bush community values. The brigade desperately needs the following:
- A shed to store our two fire trucks and hold training/meetings. This increases the life and reliability of the trucks and gives the volunteers somewhere to meet for training and brigade meetings.
- First aid kits. One of the fire trucks does not have first aid kits which are essential.
- Fire rakes are required as a tool for fire control.
- A TIC/FLIR camera is required to locate burning tree roots and other fire risk areas that cannot be seen by eye. This saves a huge amount of time when fighting fires, reduces chance of fires restarting and improves safety for volunteers.
- A firebug to conduct backburning and controlled burns.
Adding this equipment to the brigade would improve the safety, effectiveness and longevity of service the Nyrang Creek brigade can offer. Boridgeree Farming is donating $2 from every small bale of old season lucerne hay sold to the cause and will be asking local businesses, individuals and organisations for contributions.
Thank you very much for your support.
Cheers, Charlie
