Fighting for Joy

Donation protected
My friend’s name is Joyce Hester; however, you may know her as Lady Joy. There is amighty story behind that name and one day soon, you will get to read all about it :-)

For many years she has fought and battled with diabetes and many of the complications that go along with the disease to include chronic kidney disease, which has brought her to the point of now being on dialysis. This disability does not allow her to work a normal nine to five job which means her family and friends support her in tremendous ways and because she is a warrior, and with every ounce of energy she has, she does all she can to care for herself. I know her personally and she absolutely hates asking people for help. .

To be blunt, this girl has been through more than one person should have to: various types of abuse, sickness/disease, divorce and so much more. It is like she cannot get ahead, so when an emergency expense arises, she definitely doesn’t have a safety net in place to get her through the tougher times.

Over the past couple of weeks, my sisters only means of transportation back in forth to dialysis as well as other important doctor appointments, her white 2004 Toyota Sequoia broke down on her. The vehicle became a total loss when the wheel axle snapped while she was driving over 60 mph on the highway! Thank God, she managed to cross all four lanes and make it to the shoulder safely before it completely broke in two. A friend of mine so graciously came to assist and helped her to get the car to a repair shop where she was told the cost of repairs would be in excess of 4K. Y’all, just keeping it real, she has no money and is barely able to keep up with all of the medicine, vitamins and herbs she has to take to stay alive and there is no way I can help her on my own, If I could give her what she NEEDS I would in a heartbeat, so I am doing this GFM for her.

Without a car, she has no reliable way to get to the doctor or get to dialysis and if she misses dialysis, she runs the risk of getting fatally sick. The system has not been kind to her and there is no public transportation available where she lives. We have all been rallying together to assist in getting her back in forth to her appointments that are in excess of 3-5 times a week, which has proven to be taxing on her support group. Frankly, it is not a safe situation for her to be in without a vehicle.

Things are tight for everyone and I am aware of that but if you can spare anything, it would help us a lot in getting her back to what this warrior Queen sister has done for years. She is one of the strongest people I know, does not complain, always trying to help others despite her need and I know she will pay it forward.
I cannot stress the dire situation she is in in right now. I believe in transparent honesty and I am sitting here in tears because $4,000 might as well be $4 million to us.

Please help us get my sister back on the road so that she can continue on her journey to health, wholeness, and peace. Thank in advance for considering helping us help her. May God bless you!

If you want to know more about this situation, want to see pictures or whatever, please do not hesitate to contact me . I know there are a lot of GoFundMe scams out there, so I want to put you at ease as best as I can. Again thank you for you kindness, love and support!!!
