Hi Friends and Family,

Our Family (Nicole (Sister), Josh (Justin's Twin Brother), Tracy (Sister) and Parents (Janice, Jim, Rod and Karen)  are starting this GoFundMe on behalf of our brother/son, Justin Scott, who was involved in a life changing car accident on August  11, 2021, driving between Medicine Hat and Red Deer, Alberta.  He rolled his truck on a dark, rainy corner of the road and was found by strangers (angels) in the middle of the night.  He was airlifted to Foothills Hospital by STARS Ambulance with a broken spine, where he remains while becoming stable enough for transfer to a spinal rehabilitation centre.  Justin is facing years of rehabilitation, and at this time it is unknown how much function he will be able to regain, but we are hoping to give him the best outcome and are looking for help to support him as he moves through this process while also needing to provide support for his 2 young boys.  Justin is currently wheelchair-dependent and unable to use his extremities, other than moving his right arm and leg slightly, but he has no control over his hands and he can't walk. Most of his body is paralyzed.  The good news is our parents can visit and help him daily. He can talk, eat and is still the funny guy we know. This will be the challenge of his lifetime, and we are looking to lighten the financial stress that he will be facing as he strives to gain independence in the future.
