Nathan has been selected to Represent his high school at the Youth Leadership Forum(NYLF): Engineering by George Mason University. Which was recently ranked among the highest research institutions in the country by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Joining an elite group of institutions including Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley.Using information from the College Board's Student Search Service, he was identified as a High-Achieving Student Worthy of selection. And pre-qualified for enrollment.
The NYLF: Engineering is a week long summer program held at the University of California, Berkeley in San Francisco. Tuition for NYLF: Engineering is $3,395 and includes a full schedule of classes, briefings, lectures, and simulations. A personalized Certificate of Merit. Housing accommodations and linens in the university dormitory. All on-campus meals. Course materials and lab fees. Transportation as needed for off-site activities ect. And program faculty and on-site staff for supervision. $500 will be needed for travel expenses. And $100 for incidentals.
He has already submitted an application for a scholarship to help pay for partial tuition and will receive response in the next couple of weeks. Upon receipt of any scholarship funds we will subtract the amount from our total fundraising goal. Enrollment deadline is March 8, 2019 and accepted in the order they are received.
Unfortunately we are an extremely low-income family and can not afford to send him. He is an outstanding student in both Advanced and Honors placement classes. And is truly destined for greatness. We would hate for him to miss out on this great opportunity due to lack of financial support. Also, it is crucial that we secure his spot as soon as possible. So any amount you are able to contribute will be MOST APPRECIATED and is intended only for this wonderful opportunity !!! We Thank You all in advance for any donation contributing to his education.
