Help Ashley with Medical Bills

Hello.  My name is Ashley Volz,

 

A few months back I found out I have a large tumor in my womb. So large that it needs to be removed as soon as possible. My surgery is  scheduled for January 28th and I'll be out of commission for a minimum of 6 weeks.  If everything goes well.

I'm reeling. My head is a mess and my body feels unwell. I've been struggling for a while.

 

My mother passed in 2006 due to metastasized ovarian cancer. I'm so scared and they can't tell me if it's cancerous until after they operate. This means that I may lose my reproductive organs and I won't know until I wake up.

 

This is torture honestly and I'm having a hard time with all the information and keeping track of appointments and bills. Our medical and insurance system here in the US is so unfair and unfriendly and hard to navigate. Unfortunately,  I was referred to a doctor that is out of my network, so I have accrued $4000 in bills.

 

I'm already up to my eyeballs in debt and I haven't even gotten to post-op yet!!!

 

What I really need is support in whatever form any of you lovely humans can offer.

 

My dear friend Angelina has offered her support by starting a food train. If you have advice, love, prayers, a few extra dollars, anything, I am so very open to receiving right now. I need the loving embrace of my community while I face this, my biggest fear, surgery.

Here is how the funds will be used:
$6,000 for 3 months out of work - living expenses
$4,000 already accrued bills
$3,700 insurance deductible
$6,500 shared insurance covered costs

$20,200 Total identified expenses
