Support for Lynn
Donation protected
Hi. This is my good friend Lynn Olson.
If you are reading this, then you probably know her. Lynn is a wonderful woman. Lynn lives life to the fullest. She is creative, energetic, generous and has a beautiful soul. She not only is a great friend but awesome mom, grandma, sister, and Auntie. Lynn has spent her whole life caring for others and has supported many charities and fundraisers. Now I am asking for your support in caring for a dear friend and family member.
The Back Story
Lynn was diagnosed with a Squamous cell carcinoma in early November 2019. Later that same month she underwent surgery at the Tom Baker Cancer Center in Calgary where it was discovered that the cancer had spread to some lymph nodes in her groin area. This means she will require an aggressive treatment of Chemo and Radiation Therapy. While her treatment does not start until March 23, she has traveled to and from the Baker Centre several times for oncology appointments, scans, etc.
The Costs
While Lynn is very happy to be receiving this life saving treatment, it means that she will have to spend several weeks in Calgary. This also adds the financial stress of accommodation, meals, gas, etc. during her stay there which can add up to a substantial amount of money. Once the treatments are complete, there will still be regular trips back to Baker Center for follow-ups.
How You Can Help
Many friends have asked “What can I/we do to help?” You can help by making a small donation (any amount is appreciated) to help ease the financial burden this will place on Lynn and her husband Lyle.
Updates
We will keep you updated with photos and reports of Lynn’s progress during her treatment. She is looking forward to many more happy years with her Family and you, her friends!!
NOTE: Donations in excess to the costs during treatment will be donated to The Alberta Cancer Society.
