Starting the New Year by Doing Something Good
For many years, our family has followed a New Year’s tradition that is very close to our hearts.
No matter how we celebrate, whether big or small, we donate the same amount to a meaningful cause. For us, it’s a conscious way to close one year and begin the next: by giving back and starting the new year with kindness, purpose and a good deed.
This year, we have chosen to support Stray Dogs Center UAE, a licensed, non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing stray dogs from the streets of the UAE and giving them safety, medical care and a second chance at life.
Instead of gifts, drinks or food, we are inviting friends and supporters to join us in this tradition and help turn a moment of celebration into something that truly matters.
All donations from this campaign go directly toward supporting the rescue, care and protection of dogs in need through Stray Dogs Center UAE.
Every 500 AED (approx. 125 EUR) helps rescue one dog and secure a safe place within the shelter system.
Why Stray Dogs Center UAE
Founded in 2013, Stray Dogs Center UAE (SDC) is a licensed, non-profit animal welfare organization operating under a strict no-kill policy.
- Licensed by MOCCAE and the Government of Umm Al Quwain
- Currently caring for 1,500 rescue dogs
- More than 6,000 dogs successfully rehomed
- Also rescuing and caring for other abandoned animals
Most dogs arrive in devastating condition: starved, injured, sick, traumatized or abandoned after years of neglect. Some are found at the very edge of survival.
SDC gives them what they have often never known:
- medical care
- safety
- patience
- and the time they need to heal
From there, every dog is prepared for adoption - because the mission is not just rescue, but a future for the little ones.
What Your Donation Does
Your contribution directly supports:
- Emergency rescues of abandoned and injured dogs
- Medical treatment and rehabilitation
- Safe shelter, care and nutrition
- Preparation for adoption and rehoming
Every 500 AED = one dog rescued.
Continuing Our Tradition
This year, we are continuing our family tradition once again.
Whatever we spend on celebrating New Year’s Eve, we will donate the same amount to this cause.
To make this possible, we need your support.
If you would normally bring a gift, drinks or food, we kindly ask you to support this tradition instead and help us turn our New Year’s celebration into a meaningful act of giving.
Thank you for being part of this tradition and for helping us start the new year by giving back.
Life is about giving,
Sasha & Levin
