Although it’s been almost a month since Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina, communities in my home state are still hurting. Homes and businesses still need rebuilding, people still need safe drinking water, and as the seasons change displaced families need shelter and warm clothes… just to name a few needs.
It’s also been almost a month since the Berlin Marathon. I finished that race with more in the tank, and am feeling privileged and excited to follow it up with the New York City Marathon in just 2 weeks!
While I entered Berlin with a time goal in mind, my goal for NYC is to support ongoing Helene relief efforts in Western North Carolina. For the next 2 weeks, I’ll be raising funds that will go directly to community organizations on the ground in WNC. This will be be my second time running the best marathon in the world in the best city in the world and I can’t wait to hit the streets on behalf of this region that holds so many fun memories, beautiful places, and beloved family and friends.
No amount is too small! Thanks so much for considering.
