#BoycottWendys
This November, allies from the Northeast will join forces with farmworkers from Immokalee, FL in New York City, once again taking to the streets to demand farm labor justice from Wendy’s. Wendy's has resisted joining the Fair Food Program for the past six years; a worker-driven agreement that ensures that workers are paid fair wages with the penny-per-pound premium, implements mechanisms against sexual violence in the fields, and establishes a workplace where human rights are upheld.
As Wendy's has seen with the major mobilizations that have followed its corporate evasion tactics, from the the “How Much Longer, Wendy’s” March in New York to the 4 for Fair Food Tour this past spring, the Fair Food Nation will not rest until Wendy’s joins other fast-food giants – McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, and Chipotle – in supporting the only proven solution to ending human rights abuse in U.S. agriculture, the Fair Food Program.
On November 18th, allies across the Northeast will travel to New York for a major march demanding real transparency and human rights protections in Wendy’s supply chain. We will march to the hedge fund Trian Partners, Wendy’s largest institutional shareholder and the home office of several members of Wendy’s Board of Directors. We will tell Wendy’s loud and clear that it is time to stop hiding and to join the Fair Food Program! We are organizing a bus to transport allies to the mobilization, starting from Boston with stops in Providence and New Haven. But we need your help to get there!
All funds go directly towards paying for the cost of the bus.
