NYC Noise Operating Costs

i started the experimental music calendar nyc noise a lil over a year ago, & since september 2018 have listed over 9,000 shows (~170-200 / wk). doing this with relative accuracy takes a lot of time: bills change constantly; tracking down events & links is hard; & i maintain the site entirely by myself.* this "labor of 'love'"** consistently takes 20+ hours per week, & i've received no funding for this work –– i've just spent money on stuff like web hosting.
so, THE ASK: if you use nyc noise & (.../or?) want to see it continue, please throw $10 –– or whatever you can! –– my way. i'm using this money to replace the nearly-busted laptop i use to run the site, to reimburse myself a dash for my time so this can continue feeling like a sustainable project, & to pay other humans to help me make the thing better.
if you want to read more about the site, check out NYC-Noise.com/About (there's a submission form there, too; send me events!) & of course the NYC_Noise instagram, where i post daily calendars + pictures & videos promoting upcoming events. content warning for net speak, but... it's kinda fun.
xoxo,
j
p.s. hey also... thanks for making & introducing me to such great sounds? i've gone to ~230 shows over the last year (shhh i know), & there have been SO MANY GOOD THINGS –– & i'd have missed a *pile* of those, if it weren't for doing this.
*re: maintenance: shoutout to paul feitzinger, who saved all of our brains w/ the top monthly calendar, & to the Computerly People who have contacted me recently offering additional help; be careful, bc i might take you up on it!
**the scare quotes are bc yeah I KNOW about passion exploitation, ok?? i'm a humanities phd dropout, ffs
