Hi everyone! My name is Katarina Love, and I’m running the 2026 New York City Marathon on behalf of the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation, an organization that has supported me as a childhood brain tumor survivor.
Children's Brain Tumor Foundation
The Children's Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) was founded in 1988 by a group of dedicated parents, physicians, and friends to improve the treatment, quality of life, and the long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors. In addition to providing funds to research a cure, the organization is the nation's leader in quality of life programs for families impacted by brain and spinal cord tumors. We support families from the day of diagnosis and throughout the brain tumor journey.
I am so excited for this opportunity to run for CBTF for the NYC Marathon. During my diagnosis and treatment, running was (and remains) an outlet for my mental health, and a way to feel strong in the wake of a brain tumor diagnosis. I am so lucky to have the physical ability to run a marathon- an ability that many survivors have taken away from them. I am running because I can, and I am running on behalf of all my amazing survivor friends who can't. Any contribution to this cause will be fueling the mission of empowering, supporting, and connecting pediatric brain tumor patients through the work the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation does.
Thank you.
