NYC EMT Josh Caro Fund 2 Support Family While ICU

My name is Alex Maroutsis and worked with Josh as his partner for 4 years. As a 911 EMT we both talked about the realities of the job. The accidental fall or HIV infected syringe prick. Falling debris, anything that could end up leaving our wife or in Josh's case Fiance behind. BUT beyond leaving them, leaving them with rent to pay, babys to care for and bills piling up was always a top discussion and priority. JOSH IS CURRENTLY IN THE ICU FOR 2 WEEKS. And 1 week prior with covid-19 symptoms until he could no longer breathe on his own. In the ICU he is on a nasal cannula and BiPAP. He describes when he has the strength via text that he just wants his daughter and fiance to be taken care of. Josh unfortunately works by the hour. Im asking all my fellow EMS, be it private hospital or FDNY. To join me as Josh slowly recovers, to help raise the money needed for rent, electric bill, milk, food, etc. And when he comes home the innevitable insurance company bills that im sure they will send and fight for. Josh is a 15 year Veteran EMT. Who many of you in the NYC EMS community know and most likely were trained by. Josh besides and EMT is a father, a fiance and an amazing human being. Who would gladly care for a strangers before he cared for his own health. Josh Caro nor any of us would expect a thank you. We are doing our job.
