Garden of Dance
Tribute to Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale
Celebrating Her 122nd Birth Anniversary & International Day of Dance
Presented by Damir Tasmagambetov & Tatyana Popova
About the Festival
The Garden of Dance honors the visionary Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale, who transformed Bharatanatyam into a globally revered art form with her dedication to beauty, discipline, compassion, and artistic integrity.
This is New York City’s first and only Indian Classical Dance Festival dedicated exclusively to Rukmini Devi Arundale, her beloved Kalakshetra Foundation, and her ideals:
Education without fear, art without vulgarity, and beauty without cruelty.
Unity Through Dance
Organized by Kalakshetra alumni Damir Tasmagambetov & Tatyana Popova, the festival celebrates art as a pathway to unity, bringing together artists and audiences across cultures in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“The world is one family.”
