Right now, Uganda is facing an Ebola outbreak. At Nyaka, the safety of our students, staff, and grandmothers always comes first.
From the moment this outbreak began, Nyaka has taken action to protect our entire community across all three of our schools. So far, our efforts have been successful with every single person across Nyaka staying safe and Ebola-free. We are determined to keep it that way.
We're able to do this because of the holistic approach that is the foundation of everything Nyaka provides: Prevention, Protection, and Preparedness. These three principles guide every system and solution we build and they are how we protect the children, grandmothers, and staff who make up our community.
The most essential part of our Ebola plan is clean water; for washing hands, for bathing, for cooking, for drinking, and for keeping our facilities clean. Your contributions to this campaign will make sure every measure is in place, and that enough clean water is flowing to all three of our schools, our staff, and all of our facilities, to keep everyone safe.
The need is most urgent at our Nyaka Vocational Secondary School. Due to the dry season, the current water pump system is not able to provide sufficient supply and needs to be upgraded to a stronger, more reliable system. We're addressing this emergency right now and we need your help to complete it, while we continue strengthening protection across our entire organization.
This is more than a response to one outbreak. For 25 years, Nyaka has built stronger systems alongside our community in Uganda to nurture and protect children so they can learn, grow, and thrive. We are not only fundraising for water or for Ebola response. We are building stronger communities where children can learn, grow, and thrive, even in times of crisis.
Thank you for anything you can give. 100% of funds donated will go directly to our Ebola response measures and clean water systems. Together, through Prevention, Protection, and Preparedness, we'll keep our whole Nyaka community safe.
