Nyah Depol

As a friend of the family I want to make everyone aware what is happening to this incredible young lady Nyah Depol.

Nyah was traveling when she became very sick and had to be hospitalized.

Two weeks later she is still in the hospital in Milan, Italy. Nyah became sick with what was believed to be a stomach flu. Over a period of days she became extremely dehydrated. She went to the emergency where it was discovered she was in kidney failure due to an infection and that the infection had spread to her blood. She also was extremely anemic and had swelling in both her liver and spleen. She was being treated for her infection and was responding to the antibiotic therapy. We were hopeful that she would recover and she could get home.

Unfortunately, things got worse for Nyah! During a kidney biopsy the doctor cut her artery which led to internal bleeding for 3 hours before they could find the source of the bleed and stop it. She required 13 units of blood (we almost lost her).

She is now faced with healing from a very large hematoma as well as fighting the infection.

Both of these issues are scary and difficult to overcome. Nyah still has a very long road in front of her. She has been through so much and is fighting hard to get better. This situation has created a financial burden for Nyah and her family as well. With Nyah being 19 her parents expenses will not be covered by insurance. The financial burden will be upwards of $30,000.
