On June 3, a devastating fire tore through Nyack Plaza, displacing 13 families. Many of them are longtime neighbors who have shaped the spirit and strength of this village.
These are not strangers. They are our elders, our coworkers, our classmates, our friends. Families who have built lives here, contributed to local schools, cared for neighbors, and made this community what it is. They are now facing heartbreaking loss—of homes, memories, and a sense of safety.
The Nyack NAACP is stepping in, not as charity, but as community. This is about mutual care. We take care of our own.
Nyack Families Displaced by Fire: Let’s Show Up
Nyack NAACP with the help of you, will pay for:
- Emergency housing and relocation
- Replacement of essentials like clothing, toiletries, and household items
- Support for children who lost everything overnight
- Restoring stability, dignity, and hope in the days ahead
