Urgent Situation
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
Michael LeBeau here. I am asking for urgent help for a family friend who is soon to be homeless, without some assistance.
For the past 14 years, my 85-year-old mom and her longtime boyfriend Keith have been renting a home in Bakersfield, CA. For the last 10 years, they have had one of Keith's friends, Kevin Alsup living on the property in a travel trailer. Keith and Kevin have had a mutually beneficial relationship, exchanging rent, water and electricity for helping around the property and giving them a sense of security knowing there was someone to keep an eye on things.
Sadly, Keith died suddenly on June 30. My mom has moved to Idaho to be with us.
Kevin is a very pleasant 61-year-old gentleman who is a gentle soul that is physically disabled. Kevin also suffers from ADHD. He definitely has a learning disability and he is not in great physical or mental/emotional condition and would not survive the 112-degree heat living on the streets. I did a background search on Kevin and did not find any criminal history.
I found a group home call Genesis House that will be safe place to live while awaiting his Social Security eligibility next June. He can live there for $750 a month which includes room and board. So far we have raised $3000, but we will need another $3000 to get him through to collecting his Social Security. We would be grateful for any donations towards this cause. I have set it up with the home to pay his rent on a monthly basis from this fund. Any donations would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
