This past Wednesday, September 17th, a catastrophic 5-alarm fire engulfed 481 Van Brunt Street, the building that has been home to our woman-owned business, NY Printing & Graphics, for over 20 years.
The structure suffered severe damage not only from the blaze but also from the extensive 48-hour water operation needed to bring the fire under control. We’re still working with limited information as we wait for approval to fully inspect our workspace while engineers assess the building’s structural safety. At this point, we don’t yet know whether we’ll be able to return to rebuild, but we are committed to staying in this area that has been our home for over two decades and will continue operating in some capacity as we work through this recovery. We’ve shared the few photographs we’ve managed to take during this difficult time.
We have been proudly serving this community for more than 20 years. Our journey on the pier has taken us from our original location at 8A to our current home at 11AR, and through all these years, this community has remained at the heart of everything we do. We’re turning to our broader community network as we navigate the path forward and work to recover from this devastating setback.
