GS Italy @ NY Encounter

Fundraising for Italian GS kids to attend the New York Encounter:

Last month, my friend Elena, responsible for the GS Youth Group in Montreal met with some GS friends from Italy. Moved by their enthusiasm and curiosity, Elena invited them to attend the 2024 New York Encounter with us. This is a wonderful cultural even organized by the friends of CL, made possible by the volunteer work of so many people.

The 6 kids will attend some of the conferences and visit the exhibits, which will certainly enrich them in so many ways. Furthermore, they enthusiastically signed up as volunteers and will be helping Elena and me in the kitchen.

We are reaching out to help them support the expenses involved.

In their own words:

"This unique experience would allow us to grow, as we would be in contact with people from different nations, attending the meetings proposed this year, under the theme ‘Tearing Open the Sleeping Soul’.

Our desire is also to 'test ourselves' in the experience of volunteering, so working not for financial rewards, but to enrich our humanity.

As you can imagine, the costs involved in traveling from another continent and all the accommodations in New York are quite expensive for us.

To make this experience achievable, we need your help!

Raccolta fondi per i ragazzi italiani di GS che parteciperanno al New York Encounter:

Il mese scorso, la mia amica Elena, responsabile del gruppo "GS" di Montreal, ha incontrato alcuni amici di GS in Italia. Commossa dal loro entusiasmo e dalla loro curiosità, Elena li ha invitati a partecipare con noi al "New York Encounter" di quest'anno. Si tratta di una splendida manifestazione culturale organizzata dagli amici di CL, resa possibile dal lavoro volontario di tante persone.

I 6 ragazzi parteciperanno ad alcune conferenze e visiteranno le mostre, che sicuramente li arricchiranno sotto tanti punti di vista. Inoltre, si sono iscritti con entusiasmo come volontari e aiuteranno Elena e me in cucina.

Stiamo cercando di aiutarli a sostenere le spese.

Ecco cosa scrivono i ragazzi:

"Questa esperienza unica ci permetterebbe di crescere, perché saremmo a contatto con persone di diverse nazioni, partecipando insieme agli incontri proposti quest'anno, dal tema "Aprire l'anima addormentata".

Il nostro desiderio è anche quello di "metterci alla prova" nell'esperienza del volontariato, lavorando quindi non per una ricompensa economica, ma per arricchire la nostra umanità.

Come potete immaginare, i costi del viaggio da un altro continente e dell'alloggio a New York sono piuttosto onerosi per noi.
