Help Kim's Fight With Rare Terminal Cancer

Hello Family, Friends and the community,

My name is Maria and I come to you all at this crucial time as a mother in law to Kimberly and ask for your help and support in her fight against Stage 4 Thymic Cancer.

At the young age of 34, Kim has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive Thymic Carcinoma Cancer that has spread to her superior vena cava and her lungs. Thymic carcinomas are found in 0.2-0.5% of people worldwide and the 5 year survival rate is only 14-24%. So far, Kim has completed 10 radiation treatments, is going to be starting chemotherapy, and will most likely need multiple extensive open chested surgeries in the future. Right now the oncologist team is telling her she is not a surgical candidate because of her disease progression but she will be desperately seeking out other opinions WHEREVER she can.

This news has been a shock to Kim, Justin, and their two young daughters Summer and Alexis. Breaking this news to them was heart wrenching and is something no one should ever have to go through.  

For those of you who don’t know Kim, she is a caring Registered Practical Nurse who is devoted to helping others whenever she can. Before this news she was continuing her studies to become a Registered Nurse to better help those in need. She is a loving wife to my son and mother to her 2 children. Kim has always been the first one to offer a lending hand, a smile, an ear, or shoulder to anyone in need. Kim is a fighter and will not back down.

Now facing the fight for her life, Kim and her family desperately need everyone's support to ease some of the burden they will now face. Any size donation will help ease the stress and provide Kim’s family to remain by her side throughout this battle. Money raised will help with unexpected medical costs, time off work, travel, and hotel stays from Northern Ontario to Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Any size donation is greatly appreciated and if you are unable to donate your prayers and well wishes will go along way as well.
