Hello Everyone,
We need your help.
In April my husband, Troy, came down with a tooth infection that seemed concerning, but after getting him antibiotics he started feeling better but his face was still numb and his mouth was hurting. After the Antibiotics , he began complaining about losing feeling in his hands and feet.
They felt like pins and needles, then they were numb. We weren't sure what the cause was, and took him to the hospital to have him checked out. They performed an MRI and kept him overnight for observation. The next morning they sent him home with instructions to follow up with Orthopedics and Neurology, but no diagnosis.
It was about 30 days before we could get in for an appt. All the while he was getting worse. He started dragging one leg and needed help walking. His fine motor skills were affected and he couldn't use his hands. to pick up anything and his arms were very painful .We thought it was his back or neck, but within a week he couldn't walk. That same week we saw the Neurologist who immediately admitted him to the hospital for more testing (MRI, CT SCANS, LAB, SPINAL TAP and a slew of other scans) He stayed for a week and they finally diagnosed him with a B12 deficiency and Multiple Sclerosis.
He started treatment but they couldn't say how much he'll get back. As of now he's using a walker and wheelchair. If this wasn't bad enough I got laid off July 23rd, UCSD eliminated 230 positions. We lost our medical insurance and because I worked Remote from Nevada, my Unemployment is delayed and I won't have a full check until the 3rd week of October. As a result we had to cancel his Neuro appts until we can make payments.
We just need enough to cover Rent, Medical Bills, and Groceries until my Unemployment kicks in around Oct 21st.
I really can't believe this is happening to us and I HATE begging and asking for help but we're going to be homeless if I can't come up with October Rent.
Anything you can give us will be appreciated.
Thank you.
