100K Masks for NYC Workers

As of 04/03/20 there has been over 56,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in NYC. In one day, 305 New Yorkers died from the virus, pushing the death toll up to 1,867. In addition to social distancing, CDC also recommends people covering their nose and mouth to stop the spread of virus when they are outside.

We have started this fundraising campaign to distribute masks to all the frontline workers. They have to leave their house everyday and risk their lifes to keep our City running. They are the unsung heroes of this time of crisis. Many of them, grocery workers, delivery workers and cashiers, are minimum wage workers, yet they are the ones holding up our lifelines at this moment. Our goal is simple: to protect essential workers and to flatten the curve.

We are a coalition made up of a registered 503 (c) nonprofit organization and a team of rapid response community volunteers. We have been organizing PPE donations to NYC hospitals in the last three weeks.

Because of our team members' personal & professional relationships, we were able to secure steady supplies of medical & surgical masks from certified equipment manufacturers to be shipped to NYC. To date, we have donated 7,730 N95 masks, 80000 surgical and three ply face masks and over 1000 bottles of disinfecting spray and sanitizers to NYC hospitals, First Responders and Senior Centers, with hospitals being our top priority. Now the government has secured PPE supplies to hospitals. We shift our priority to cover the wider category of all essential workers.

100% of donations will go directly into the acquisition and delivery of surgical masks to frontline workers who keep NYC running. We have zero overhead costs, as all our staffs are non-paid volunteers. Also, we have already established connections with manufacturers to ship in masks at efficient cost and time. We are distributing  coronavirus care bags to all frontline workers, each bag contains 5 surgical mask. For $5, you can protect two workers. For a donation of $25, you can send 10 care packages to frontline workers. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.

since frontline workers are the ones having the most interactions with people.

WHO WE ARE

Parent Child Relationship is a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on providing resources and support underserved immigrant communities in NYC, which the organization is still committed to serve during this pandemic by making consultation and workshops available online. PCR has built an extensive grassroot network in NYC Asian immigrant community, which enables it to organize rapid volunteer actions extremely effectively. The organization has ongoing partnerships with multiple local government agencies, nonprofit organizations and small businesses to organize events and bring resources to underserved communities.

C.A.A. Volunteers are a group of a Chinese New Yorkers who spontaneously decided to come together to contribute to the cause of fighting coronavirus and make NYC strong. They come from all walks of life and united by the common goal of helping to fight the pandemic.

How is your fundraiser different from other fundraiser fighting coronavirus?

100% of your donation will go directly to support the acquisition of masks for frontline workers. We have no overhead cost as all our volunteers work for free. We have already been delivering PPE donations in NYC area and have already established a reliable supply channel. We will be sharing photos & videos of frontline workers receiving the donated equipment, so you can see your impact on the local NYC community.
