Its a long hard road of recovery. And still recovering. Hello my name is Misty Collins I'm a 38 year old female. On August 1st 2012 was involved in a motor vehicle pedestrian incident where a man tried to rob an assault and ultimately kill me. I sustained injuries and have had numerous surgeries were my hip bone for a fractured and my face laceration was pulled off half my head and my lower eyelid. By the grace of God I was able to make thru on a coma for a month , then they let me wake up where I was in traction tell the end of 2012. I've had 59 surgeries numbers multiple surgeries from color plasty take down to an ileostomy. I still have to have numerous surgeries and hopefully I'm on my last one. Due to the several infections and hard IV antibiotics mighty have crumbled down to nothing. Right now I'm in the process of having UT dental college take out all my teeth and have them replaced with dentures but I would really like implants. I can't ask for much because I did make it through a horrendous incident where I should have lost my life but by the grace of God I was saved. I have a second chance at life again. Right now I spend my time in between doctors visits kama therapy, and working with The Respite Ministry Home for Women who specialize in helping homeless veterans . As you can see from my photos I used to have a beautiful smile and I carry that smile around me now till this day even though I was ran over. I just want the chance to smile again and eat regular food and share the word of how I was saved and how I can help other veterans and other people in the future. Even though it's been hard for me I have a very dramatic story would like to share it with everyone. I have had no income in the past three years due to my numerous surgeries and appointments and therapies Memorial Hermann put out of medical lean on me for 1.2 million dollars which the Va has so Kelly picked up half but I know I still have lingering charges. I have put in for SSD, and finally won my case, but I'm still waiting to see when it comes in. That's why I am on GoFundMe to see if anybody could please help me and donate that way I can spread the word of the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and how he saved my life and to help veterans Women and other vets out there to get the continual care they need. I don't want to be embarrassed talking to all these people when I only have 10 teeth left in my head. At this moment I please speak to numerous people about what has happened to me and how far I've come in even though its a hardship I've come out a better person on the other side I would just like the chance to do it with a smile again thank you. And thank you Lord Jesus Christ. And my mother who has been here every step of the way .
