Hi, my name is Tyler. I'm the oldest son of 3: my little sister, who is 10, and a little brother, who is 4. This fundraiser is for my mother, Amanda, who, on top of raising two younger kids, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in February. She's such a strong and independent woman and hard-headed that asking for help isn't in her wheelhouse. We have been hopeful and positive no matter what has been thrown at us. She's always overcome any obstacle that has come our way. Amanda has a huge heart and has always helped everyone else, and I think it’s due time that she gets the help she always gives out. The donations will be used for everything the family needs, including groceries and bills. Amanda felt a lump in her left breast in January. After getting a mammogram, biopsy, MRI, and partial mastectomy with lymph node removal, she was diagnosed with multifocal, invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3. Her diagnosis means that she will require chemotherapy for 5 months, then radiation for an additional period of time TBD. This diagnosis and the subsequent surgeries have been very hard on the family. She is about to go in for a 3rd surgery, post-mastectomy, to address post-operative complications from the initial mastectomy. These additional surgeries are delaying her port implantation, which is preventing her from starting her chemotherapy.
