Help the Evans Family

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Stacy McNab. I am Natalie's cousin and I have organized this fundraiser to help support her husband and two children. All proceeds will go directly to Jason Evans, Natalie's husband, to use for medical expenses, transportation costs, and lost wages. Below is Natalie's story, written by her dad, Brad Hansen.

Natalie and Jason’s story is full of love and joy. They met in architecture school, fell in love, and built a life together in Syracuse NY. Their shared passion for adventure and discovery brought them around the world together and led Natalie to co-found The Sweet Praxis Bakery. Amongst all this, they were married on a beautiful spring day at Green Lakes and brought two beautiful children, Ella (4) and Finlay (18 months) into the world. Their everyday life with each other and their children, along with their dreams, was full of optimism, warmth, and happiness. They had a wonderful future ahead of them. Tragically, cancer came into their lives and turned everything upside down.

Natalie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on June 17th and spent the summer battling it at Wilmot Cancer Center in Rochester NY, fighting for her family, for her children, and for the future, she and Jason had planned and dreamed of. Tragically, the cancer was unbelievably aggressive and Natalie lost her life in early October. Jason, with help from family and friends, is left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, the lost dreams, and their children without Mommy.

And as you can guess, while there was insurance in place to help with many of the medical costs of supporting Natalie throughout her courageous fight, it doesn’t cover all the medical expenses or out-of-pocket expenses like transportation between Syracuse and Rochester, meals, lodging, and lost incomes from both of their jobs. The need is great. We ask that if you find it in your heart to help, to donate a financial gift through this GoFundMe campaign to ease Jason’s burden a bit. If you can’t help financially, that is completely OK as well; your love, support, and prayers will be and are appreciated.

As Natalie told her parents on her 38th birthday in August, she knew that so many were sending their love and prayers. She said, “Dad, I feel all the love, more than I have ever felt.” We cling to that memory knowing Natalie was truly loved and will be forever missed. Thank you to each and every one whose lives have been touched by Natalie. She loved you all.

Thank you for helping my daughter's family at this time.
