Ruth’s Cancer Journey

With the help of Ruth’s closest friends and family we are hoping this fundraiser will ease the financial burden of the unexpected road Ruth has in front of her. Just a few weeks ago, In September of this year Ruth went to her yearly checkup. The doctor discovered masses on her breasts and lymph nodes. After multiple tests, it was determined that the masses are cancerous. Within the next few weeks she will begin chemotherapy. The treatments are expected to last at least sixteen weeks. The next step, Ruth will undergo a mastectomy. After, she will complete treatment with radiation. For anyone who knows Ruth, they know, she is a kind, loving, generous sister, daughter, friend and mother. Throughout the past six months she has been our fathers person in his cancer battle. She has been with him at all his doctors appointments, his chemo treatments, and just being by his side. Now she faces her own battle and we want her to know she is not alone. We are hoping to raise the funds to cover medical expenses and financial losses due to loss of work. Ruth is determined to work as much and as long as possible through her treatment. Working in a hospital, with the public will be a challenge enough. Any help during this process will be nothing short of a blessing. Ruth is the mother to an 11 and 13 year old. Over the course of the next 6 months there will be times, whether it’s because of the effects of chemo or the surgery that she will simply have no option but to take time away from work. This is our chance to come together and help her just as she has done for so many of us.
