Grandparents' Fire Devastation: A Total Loss

In the very early morning hours on September 8th, a wildfire tore through the community of Blue River.  Flames completely engulfed the home of my parents as it continued its rampage down the McKenzie River. The blaze destroyed everything, including years’ worth of memories, all furniture and appliances, shop, vehicles, and the lovingly tended garden.

Luckily, they were able to just barely evacuate the premises quickly with my 4-year old before the fires reached them. You can see the horrifying account as recorded by my mom as another stroke of misfortune causes a tree to fall on and damage the vehicle they were using to flee.

My parents are and not in a position to pull themselves up by the bootstraps to easily start anew. They are loving, doting grandparents who don’t deserve to go into their sunset years with just ashes to show for it. Your donation helps them recoup a portion of lives back.
