Help Bella represent Judo Australia in Hong Kong!
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Bella Nolan, I'm 19 and I have just been selected to represent Australia in Judo.
In August, I will be competing in Hong Kong and Macau in the Junior Asian Open competitions and will be participating in a training camp in between.
This will be my first overseas competiton and I am seeking your support to help me be able to represent Australia and take the next step towards an Olympic dream.
I started Judo at Mackay Kodokan at 11 years old and immediately fell in love with it. In my second year of Judo, I competed in my first state titles, which ignited my passion for competition. As Mackay is a fair distance from other judo clubs, my dad, sister and I would travel 3 or 4 times a year the 9 hours to Cairns and Innisfail to compete, as well as to many state titles and, eventually, national championships.
I have been competing since I was 12 and during that time have attained several state medals, three nationals bronze medals and a silver at the Oceania Open. I currently fight in the under 57kg division in the Junior and senior women's divisions and am ranked 3rd and 5th respectively.
When I turned 18, I made the move to Brisbane and joined Shin Gi Tai Judo club who have supported me in my development both as a young woman and an aspiring Judoka. Since being here, i have received my shodan (black belt) and improved my Judo significantly, which is reflected in my competition performance.
The move to Brisbane has also allowed me more opportunities, including the upcoming Asian Opens.
Coming from a small club, where I would often train with my sister, it is incredibly exciting that I have been offered this opportunity. In the long term, my dream is to compete in World Titles and the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane. This is the first step.
Any donation is greatly appreciated.
