The TNR Project Compassion Team is feeling overwhelmed at present. We are receiving request after request for help. Things should be quiet out there now, kitten season should be over, but it couldn't be further from the truth.
We have a long list of community cat groups people are pleading with us to assist. We are receiving message after message to help and take on cats and kittens. There is a lot of dumping also going on in Campbelltown and surrounds at present, its absolutely heartbreaking.
The kitties in these pictures are just a few we have been asked to help, but the coffers have run near on dry. We have enough to get us through about another week. The funds we made at our recent stalls were gone within 2 weeks . The cost of fully vetting and council registering those that we take on to rehome are bleeding us dry. We are currently taking steps in the background to provide us with longer term financial options, but in the meantime we need to deal with today.
For us to rescue a kitten, complete their vet work and council register them we are at least $250 - out of pocket after adoption fees (with rescue rates at our vets) and that's assuming the there have been no extraordinary health issues. For cats that dont rehome quickly the costs just keep adding on week after week. We have been forced to increase adoption fees in response.
For those kitties which are not rehomeable and that come in as an unsocialised TNR, it costs us $60 each to desex them. This will improve their wellbeing on an ongoing basis and stop the suffering of the future kittens on the street that they would have created.
We have another adoption day and stall planned on the 21st June but by then we will be completely out of $$.
Essentially we do not have funds to cover the costs of the kitties in these pics and many of them are in mortal danger.
We would be extremely grateful for any help that you can provide, no amount is too small. If you would like banking details please message the Community Helping Campbelltown Cats Facebook page.
Thank you so much for your support.
