Urban Training Center Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Jacob Martinez and I’m 26 years old. I was born and raised in Santa Cruz County. Before I started going to church, I wanted nothing to do with God. I would go through life without knowing what would be next for me in life; with no purpose. I wasn’t really close to my family and only really cared about going out with friends. The type of friends that would only want to drink or smoke and didn’t have any sense of direction for their lives. That was the type of lifestyle I was living before coming to Christ.

However, it was at the start of this year, 2024, when God got a hold of my life and everything began to change. Since then I have not been the same and God has been doing such tremendous things in my life. Now that I have a relationship with God, I am closer to my family, I have more peace through prayer, and I am beginning to have a sense of purpose in my life. Also, I feel motivated and encouraged to find a calling that God has placed upon my life. What I feel like God is calling me to do in my life is to become a leader in my church and for my generation. He has already placed a burden upon my heart to go out and seek the people that desperately need God just like I did.

I am currently attending Victory Outreach Santa Cruz and I am excited about the next season God is leading me to. I feel God has placed it upon my heart to go to the Urban Training Center. Victory Outreach itself is a church that evangelizes and disciples the hurting people of the world, with the message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ. The Urban Training Center is a pathway that Victory Outreach offers to help young adults find their calling in God, develop leadership skills, and personal growth. Victory Outreach has these campuses across the world so that students can have unique multicultural experiences.

Therefore with this amazing opportunity I have decided to go to the UTC Brazil campus, which is located in São Paulo, Brazil. I believe going to the UTC would be life changing for me as I grow in areas that will be beneficial to my church and help establish a culture that is constantly transforming the lives of others as well. I want to be able to be a testimony to my generation as a young person who is willing to serve God for life.

The tuition for the UTC is $4,500. To achieve this goal I will be asking family, friends, and businesses to partner with me. I will also be opening up a GoFundMe page as well. My goal when I get back from the UTC, is to be a helping hand to my church and a vessel for God. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in my life. I pray that this letter is something that is inspirational to many and will be able to encourage you to partner with me in accomplishing this goal.
