Nutrition Support for Cancer Patients

Hello. We are a small group of Board Certified Oncology Dietitians. We've been trying hard to serve cancer patients but, unfortunately, Oncologists and Oncology Nurses under-refer to us despite the strong evidence base that nutrition support in cancer care improves the patient experience, quality-of-life, and overall outcomes. It's a real problem. Weight loss, malnutrition and wasting (cachexia) are systematically underdiagnosed in clinical oncology practice today. Medicare does not cover nutrition services for a cancer diagnosis either. We've priced our services 25% less than the average Medicare reimbursement rate but that's often still too much for folks on a fixed income. We do provide free services and low cost guides but can only do so much. We thought to reach out to the GoFundMe community to see if we could raise enough money to support Initial Assessments & Oncology Nutrition Plans for 50 patients. We'd appreciate your help. THANK YOU!
