Natalie and I (Meg) were so incredibly lucky to welcome our rescue Boston Terrier, Nutmeg, into our home in fall 2018. She'd had a hard life at a forced breeding mill, but she was so ready for a forever family and we were able to provide her with five+ years of cuddles, sunbathing, walks, toys, memories, and love. She gave us all that love back and so much more.
Nutmeg had a cancer scare in 2021 that resulted in an invasive surgery to target cancer removal in her liver and mammary glands. The surgery and resulting round of chemotherapy took a toll (physically and emotionally for Nutmeg and us, and also at a cost of about $13k at the time), but our girl bounced back better than ever and we were so happy to have her for more time.
Sadly, on April 7-8th, the cancer in her liver rebounded and due to several compounding complications, she was unable to spend even a few more days with us. Natalie and I were able to hold her and love her as she peacefully passed on. She left us and so many of her friends with endless memories and joy.
We are asking for any help to cover the medical costs for the last phase of her life, as both Natalie and I have been unexpectedly unemployed in the past year and we would love to get those costs settled and focus on remembering our Nutmeg. Anything honestly helps.
We appreciate y'all's love and care for us and Nutmeg so much during this time. Please feel free to send us any pictures or videos you have of our girl (there are millions out there in the world by now I'm sure) and we will update once we have plans for a lil memorial (probably late May) in the grass and the sunshine as our girl would have wanted.
Thanks and much love,
Meg and Natalie on behalf of our Nutmeg <3
