Private Nursing Care for Amy’s Summer

Hi, my name is Amy Masters, and I’m reaching out for your support.

Over the past year, my life has been greatly affected by my ongoing medical struggles. After a second shoulder surgery attempt on my dominant arm that was unsuccessful earlier this year, I’ve been left unable to do my own medical care.

Currently, I rely on nursing care twice a day, (setting up my IV fluids, IV medication, feeds, feeding tube care, blood sugar management, port accessing, dressing changes, intermittent catheterization etc) as well as PSW support to help manage my medical and personal needs.

Last summer, I wasn’t able to join my family at our annual tradition at the cottage up north because we couldn’t figure out how to balance my complex medical care with the need to be there. This year, I don’t want to miss out again. I’m hoping to raise funds to hire a private nurse who will accompany me on my family vacation. With the nurse’s support, I’ll be able to stay with my family at the cottage, receive the care I need, and finally enjoy a much-needed summer. I’ve already found a nurse that is able to help with all of my care, I just need to raise the funds to make this possible.

The funds raised will cover the nurse’s services 2 times a day for one hour each visit as well as the option to have care overnight as needed. This would allow me to be present with my family and get to experience a real vacation, something I haven’t had in a long time. Having this support means everything to me — it’s a chance for joy, normalcy, and connection without the burden of worrying about medical care in a hospital or nursing clinic.
