I never imagined I’d be offered such an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

After working tirelessly toward my dream of becoming a nurse, I’ve been accepted into a prestigious, month-long nursing program at Duke University in Raleigh, North Carolina. This program will provide me with valuable hands-on experience and specialised training, helping me grow both personally and professionally. It’s a major step toward my goal of making a real difference in people’s lives—both in my community and beyond.

As a full-time student and working parent, I’ve done everything I can to cover the costs. So far, this is over £1,700 on flights, insurance, baggage, placement fee, and the ESTA visa. I’ve now also been asked to show proof of immunity or receive a chickenpox (varicella) vaccine, which adds another £100–£150 to my expenses. These ongoing costs have stretched my budget more than I expected—going abroad for a month is no small feat!
