Our Dear Mama Leona Ventura Went to Heaven Sunday, 1/12/20 at 8:15am...
As you know Mama has been in the hospital for over a month. Thankfully, many of you had the chance to see her on Christmas Eve. This has been an emotional time for all of us and just a heartbreaking experience to see what happens when someone just ages. Maritess, Christel and I... along with all of Mama's children (our parents) have been struggling with the painful decision of WHAT COMES NEXT...
It is now time for her to be placed in a private Boarding Care Home under Hospice Care. While the Hospice Care will be covered by her insurance, she only has $1,000 a month that will go to her Boarding Care Home which is $5,500 per month (Most Nursing Homes quoted $8,000 to $10,000 per month). So this means we will need at least $4500 per month for at least 3 months.
We would all not be here if it weren't for Mama and her sacrifices. She does not have much time left with us in this life, so I hope you will find it in your hearts to come together and get through this as a family. I know you all love her very much, but may be experiencing some of your own struggles. Any contribution will help.
P.S. I also want to thank Maritess as she has been by Mama's side for many days and a consistent liaison with the hospital staff. She also did lots of research to help find this right place for Mama in San Jose.
