Please help support my dear friend and brother Emma on his journey to obtain a Diploma in Nursing. His leadership and passion for serving as a medical missionary to hard-to-reach communities in rural Uganda has been a huge source of inspiration for me and many others!
THIS IS HIS STORY :
My name is Emmanuel Drani.
I am a sinner saved by the gracious God. I come from Arua district, northwestern part of Uganda bordering DR Congo and South Sudan. I received a Certificate in Nursing in 2017. Since then, I have been serving as a missionary with Global Link Afrika, an indigenous mission agency in Uganda.
This has never left me the same.
For my first year, I was sent to Rushere community hospital in Western Uganda where I served in giving general nursing care to inpatients in the general medical ward and carried out a few outreaches. This was a great opportunity for sharing the gospel with the community. I enjoyed every bit of the year with its challenges.
For my second year, I was sent to Kenya with a team of 5 other medical missionaries. This time I was placed in the office of the host organization to coordinate the rest of the missionaries who were placed in different health facilities in the rural parts of Kenya. As a team we focused on community health, mostly preventive care rather than curative care. Since I come from such a background, I could identify with those communities and their health needs.
I have been challenged to serve such communities with my profession.
I am looking forward to getting equipped for this task ahead. I currently serve with the same mission agency in Uganda. I help coordinate the field missionaries placed in different “hard to reach” parts of the country, serving with their professions, mainly as health workers.
I look forward to joining Agha Khan University for my Diploma in Nursing since the country may very soon phase out Certificate Nurses. This will help me improve on my skills and serve the community God will send me to better. The two-year course requires approximately 4000 US Dollars.
Your support towards this is well appreciated.
