A Sudden Loss; The Heartbreak We Never Saw Coming:

On Friday, February 6th, 2026 our dear friend and colleague Richmond Mensah tragically gave up the ghost. He was a nurse slated for a night shift on the 6/02/2026. Around 4:30 pm, Richmond excused himself from his 14-month-old baby girl, and loving wife and went to bed for a brief rest/sleep before he will prepare for his night shift. He was always ready to head to the frontlines of care. He laid down for a rest, set his alarm for 5:45pm. Before the alarm alerted, tragedy had occurred unnoticed. When the alarm eventually went off, Richmond appeared lifeless in bed.

In a moment that feels like a nightmare, the Wife found him unresponsive. She made desperate efforts, rang the emergency services who responded faster than the average response rate and commenced resuscitation immediately hoping for the best outcome. The paramedics subsequently transported Richmond to the hospital. Without losing hope, and providing the best immediate care in the hospital, Richmond passed away minutes later.

Richmond was a 33 years old healthy, vibrant young man and full of life. He only went to bed for a rest before going to attend to his patients as usual. This makes his sudden demise even harder to comprehend. We pray for the peaceful repose of his soul

A Life Spent Caring for Others.

Richmond was not just a nurse, he was a pillar of strength, a devoted husband, and a doting father to his 14-month-old daughter.

Richmond moved to the UK in 2023 with the hope of a better life for his family. He spent his nights and days caring for the sick with a smile that could light up a ward. Now, that light is permanently off, leaving a young mother, and an innocent baby to navigate a world that feels much colder, frustrating, permanent feeling of loss and emptiness.

Our Mission : Repatriating the Body of Late Richmond Mensah from UK to his home Country Ghana

It is the family’s wish, and deepest need, for Richmond to be laid to rest in his homeland, Ghana. However, the cost of international repatriation, funeral arrangements, and the sudden loss of a primary income earner has created a staggering financial mountain for the wife to climb alone. As she mourns the love of her life, and comforts a baby who is left wondering where her Daddy is, we want to assist the young family by ensuring that she does not have to worry about the financial constraints involved in the repatriation process alone.

How You Can Help:

We the colleagues and friends are raising funds to cover the Repatriation costs from the UK to Ghana, cost of funeral services in his home village and for essential support for his wife and 14-month-old baby girl during this transition.

No donation is too small. Whether it is the cost of a coffee or a larger contribution, every penny goes directly toward giving this healthcare hero the dignified farewell he deserves and securing a small cushion for the family he left behind.

Please if you cannot donate, kindly consider sharing this link with your network. Let us come together and carry Richmond home, just as he was there for his patients through their darkest hours.
