Almost a year ago, my life changed in an instant when I was hit head-on by a drunk driver. What should have been a normal day turned into a long, painful journey that I’m still fighting through today.

Before the accident, I was doing well for myself. I’m a nurse, and I took pride in caring for others and being able to support myself and my family. I’ve always been the one people could count on—the one who helps, shows up, and gives. It’s been incredibly hard to now be in a position where I need that same help.

Since the accident, I’ve been dealing with ongoing injuries, treatments, and now another surgery that has left me non-weight-bearing. I’m doing everything I can to heal and rebuild, but this recovery has been longer and more difficult than I ever expected.

I’ve exhausted my TDI benefits and unfortunately don’t qualify for unemployment. My job is unable to take me back right now due to my condition, which means I currently have no source of income while still facing everyday living expenses.

On top of everything, I was forced to move unexpectedly due to unsafe living conditions with my previous landlord. After finally relocating, I’m now trying to stay afloat during one of the hardest times in my life.

Right now, my biggest concern is simply making it through the next couple of months—keeping a roof over my head and maintaining basic stability. I need help covering rent and my car payment so I don’t face eviction or risk having my car repossessed.

I’m not someone who usually asks for help, but right now I truly need it. I’m doing everything I can to heal, stay strong, and get my life back on track—but I can’t do it alone.
