Nurchung and Pema Tamang are from the Langtang Valley in Nepal, an area that was utterly devastated in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25th. We stayed at their guesthouse during 2007 visit to Nepal and have been friends ever since. We regularly keep in touch via email and the occassional phone call.
The earthquake caused an avalanche/landslide that completely obliterated Nurchung and Pema's entire village, leaving barely a trace of anyone having ever been there. They are among many who lost everything they knew: family members, home, community, and livelihood. Please help us to help them begin a new phase of their lives as they find a new place to live and create a new livelihood for themselves.
