Merhaba ☀️ Ben Sıla, 25 yaşında bir tiyatrocu ve Freie Üniversitesi Berlin’de Tiyatro Çalışmaları yüksek lisans öğrencisiyim. Lise eğitimimi, yüksek puanla girdiğim Cağaloğlu Anadolu Lisesi’nde tamamladım. Burada kazandığım vizyon ve sanatsal derinlik duygusu ile tiyatrocu olmaya karar verdim. ÖSYM’de ilk 2500’e girerek hedefim olan Kadir Has Üniversitesi Tiyatro Bölümü’nün yetenek sınavını kazandım ve tam burslu okudum.

Okulumun son senesinde hibeli Erasmus programıyla Mainz’a gittim. Hedefim Berlin’de yüksek lisans yapmak olduğu için orada çalıştım, hibemi harcamadan biriktirdim ve bir sene sonra Freie Üniversitesi’nden kabul alarak Berlin’e taşındım. Bu birikim sayesinde Berlin’de hayatımı kurabildim fakat ailem emekli, kardeşim hâlâ Boğaziçi Üniversitesi’nde öğrenci olduğu için maddi destek hiç alamadım. İki senedir fıtığıma rağmen 4 farklı işte —çok sevdiğim iki çocuğa oyun ablalığı, TuzBiber ekibine etkinlik asistanlığı, otellerde garsonluk ve Olimpiyat Stadyumu’nda büfe— çalışarak ayakta kaldım.

Ancak bu yıl, derslerimin uzaması ve yurt odamla ilgili yaşadığım krizle birleşen maddi yük artık Berlin’de yaşamamı imkânsız hale getirdi. Bu yüzden burs arayışına girdim. Yüksek lisansımın son senesindeki kiramı karşılayacak **5.500 euro** desteğe ulaşabilirsem eğitimimi tamamlayabilecek ve ülkeme dönüp tam da böyle mücadele ve dayanışma hikâyelerini sahneye taşıyabileceğim. Bu dayanışmayı ömrümce unutmayacağım. Şimdiden teşekkür ederim. Dayanışma ve güzelliklerle kalın.

Hello ☀️ My name is Sıla. I’m a 25-year-old theatre maker and a Master’s student in Theatre Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. I completed my high school education at Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School, which I entered with a high score. The vision and artistic depth I gained there led me to decide to become an actor. Ranking among the top 2,500 in the national university entrance exam, I passed the talent exam of my first-choice school — Kadir Has University’s Theatre Department — and studied there on a full scholarship.

In my final year, I joined the Erasmus programme with a grant and went to Mainz. My goal had always been to pursue a Master’s degree in Berlin, so I worked there, saved my grant without spending it, and one year later, I was accepted to Freie Universität Berlin and moved there. Thanks to these savings, I was able to build my life in Berlin. However, since my parents are retired and my brother is still studying at Boğaziçi University, I have never been able to receive financial support from my family. For the past two years, despite having a severe herniated disc, I have managed to stay on my feet by working in four different jobs — babysitting two children I adore, working as an event assistant for the TuzBiber collective, waitressing at hotels, and working at the buffet in the Olympic Stadium.

This year, however, the financial burden caused by the extension of my studies and a crisis with my dorm room has made it impossible for me to continue living in Berlin. That’s why I am now seeking a scholarship. If I can raise **5,500 euros** to cover my rent for this final year of my Master’s degree, I will be able to finish my studies and return to my country to bring exactly these kinds of stories of struggle and solidarity to the stage.
