Il 25 ottobre 2017 sono stato colpito da Meningite di meningococco C e dopo due lunghe settimane di battaglie in ospedale mi sono risvegliato dal coma con i postumi del'infezione... Purtroppo i medici mi dicono che devono amputarmi i piedi danneggiati oltre ad altri interventi.
Questo è l'impatto maggiore. Potete immaginare come uno sportivo, appassionato della natura e dei boschi, appassionato di orienteering possa sentirsi quando si sente dire che gli toglieranno i punti di appoggio con cui muoversi nel mondo: mi sono sentito sprofondare!
I medici mi hanno subito indirizzato a Budrio (BO) un centro medico italiano all'avanguardia per il recupero con le protesi transtibiali bilaterali per avere nuovamente la possibilità di camminare e tornare alla "normalità".
Inizia qui una nuova sfida che da sportivo sto affrontato a testa bassa giorno per giorno per tornare in piedi ed allenarmi alla normalità che diamo per scontata.
Purtroppo il danno fisico causato dalla malattia non è assicurato ne rimborsabile come un incidente o un infortunio sul lavoro e devo far fronte personalmente e con difficoltà alle spese mediche e per le protesi ai piedi.
Questi fondi che raccoglierò mi aiuteranno a pagare le spese delle protesi e le spese mediche connesse che sono ingenti per tornare ad un livello ottimale di vita che avrò davanti e per tornare al lavoro nei boschi ed alla vita attiva come nello sport.

On October 25, 2017 I was struck by meningococcal meningitis C and after two long weeks battles in the hospital I woke up from a coma with the after-effects of infection ... Unfortunately the doctors tell me that they must amputate my damaged feet in addition to other operations.
This is the biggest impact. You can imagine how a sportsman, passionate about nature and the woods, fond of orienteering can feel when he is told that they will take away the points of support with which to move around the world: I felt myself sinking!
The doctors immediately directed me to Budrio (BO), an Italian medical center at the forefront of recovery with bilateral transtibial prostheses to have the chance to walk again and return to "normality".
Start a new challenge that as a sportsman I immediately faced head-on day by day to get back on my feet and train to the normality we take for granted.
Unfortunately, the physical damage caused by the illness is not insured or reimbursed as an accident or an accident at work and I have to face medical expenses and prosthetic feet personally and with difficulty.
These funds will help me to pay the costs of the prostheses and the related medical expenses that are huge to return to an optimal level of life that I will have before and to return to work in the woods and to an active life like in sport.
