In the early morning hours of Thursday, February 28, 2020, the Nuñez-Reinoso family were abruptly awakened by a good Samaritan who had spotted fire coming from the back of their home while the entire family slept in Miramar, Florida. The five family members who were in the home fought their way through thick smoke and overpowering fire and heat to reach safety outside the house. However, one family member remained trapped and the family watched as the fire continued to spread throughout the home and they feared losing grandpa Franklin. Fortunately, he was pulled out to safety by fire fighters and though he remains in critical condition, we pray that he will get better soon.
This is not the first time Franklin and Magaly, their son Francis, their daughter and single mother, Mileidy and her children, Destiny (17), Brian (13) face challenges as a family. Grandma Magaly thankfully was not in the house at the time of the fire because she was hospitalized to address issues resulting from ongoing dialysis, which she has endured for years while awaiting a kidney transplant. The family is grateful she was not home, as she would not have likely survived the fast moving fire due to her deteriorated health condition. They consider this another blessing and miracle.
The Nuñez-Reinoso family came to this country many years ago in search of a better life for their children. This hard-working family lives paycheck to paycheck and tragically they have now lost everything they owned in this fire. The family is thankful to the “angel” that knocked on their window and that they are all still alive after such devastation, though they have lost their home and all their possessions, escaping with absolutely nothing beyond the clothes they were sleeping in.
Because victims of fires that are this extensive face tremendous costs, we hope this fund can help alleviate some of that burden. Please find it in your heart to donate and help this family during a time of great need. They literally need everything to re-create a home; clothes, bedding, toiletries, kitchenware, furniture, school supplies etc. They are staying with family until Franklin and Magaly are released from the hospital but will need to look for housing as soon as possible. It would be amazing if we could all help by making a donation to get them back on their feet.
There is no amount too small and all donations are appreciated. Thank you and may your kindness today be returned to you tenfold!!!
