Justice for Haley

Meet one of my dearest friends, Haley.

To know her is to love her. She is one of the most selfless, hard-working, loyal, and caring individuals that I’ve ever met. She is a single mom and is constantly giving of herself to not only her kiddos, but to everyone that she meets. 

The night before Thanksgiving 2019, her entire world was flipped upside down when her fiancé drugged her, assaulted her, and left her fordead only steps away from her young children.He stole her car, wallet, and most importantly, her sense of safety. 

Unfortunately, this man has been charged with less than half of the crimes that he committed. Although there is hard evidence of his guilt, Haley must come up with a $3,000 retainer fee to even reserve a lawyer’s time to begin the process and will need to pay the lawyer even more fees as the process unfolds.

It would be ideal if Haley had more time to save for these fees, but this monster is up for prison release in a few short months-less than a year after his horrific actions.

As I mentioned above, Haley is a single mother. She has recently taken a large pay cut, as her place of employment has closed due to COVIDand she had to take a lesser paying position in order to care for her children. Coming up with thousands of dollars simply is not possible. She is never oneto ask for help, but is at a loss on how to assure that her and her children remain safe, and honestly, how to ensure that justice is served. The system is failing her.
