Life has a way of bringing souls together when they need it most. Just six weeks ago, Nugget, a boofhead but very loving 3 year old French Bulldog, lost his human Mum after her sudden passing. In the wake of heartbreak, my dear friend Megs and her husband Matt stepped in, welcoming Nugget into their home and giving him a second chance at love and family. In no time, he became an irreplaceable part of the Hayward-Bush family—offering his unwavering loyalty, affection, and brotherly love to Betty, Seb, Tim and Lil!

But now, Nugget has been faced with another curve ball!

A routine vet check-up has uncovered devastating news: Nugget has been diagnosed with a mast cell carcinoma, a skin cancer, requiring emergency surgery by a specialist vet. Without this surgery, Nugget’s future is uncertain. And as cruel fate would have it, since he was only recently insured, the diagnosis falls within the cooling-off period—meaning his pet insurance will not cover the cost. Even worse, this will now be classified as a pre-existing condition, leaving him without coverage if future treatment is required.

Megs and Matt have given Nugget a new home filled with love, but now they need some help to get him this very necessary surgery. I understand everyone is counting their pennies as we have all been struck down by the ever rising cost of living, however every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to securing the surgery that will allow Nugget to keep thriving in his new family, where he is so deeply cherished.
