Who are we?
WAVES Lobitos is a non-profit organization that, for over 10 years, has been using sports as a tool for integral development in Lobitos, a small coastal town in northern Peru. Through surf, skate, jiujitsu, art, and environmental programs, we help children and youth build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a strong connection with nature.
What are we doing in 2026?
This year, we are continuing our three-year instructor training project based on Surf Therapy methodologies. Thanks to the support of FEDEVACO, 80% of this program is already funded. Our goal for this campaign is to raise the remaining 20% needed for the second year of the project.

In addition, we are launching two key initiatives that will expand our impact and secure the long-term growth of our work:
1. Regenerative Initiatives Program
“Iniciativas Regenerativas” is a movement for knowledge exchange around regenerative practices connected to sport, health, and the environment.
Its goal is to learn from other organizations, share our own experience, build an international learning community, and better support the youth of Lobitos.
We aim to move beyond isolated activities and create an ongoing dynamic of collaboration and training. Through webinars, professional exchanges, and shared experiences, we will question our methodologies and co-create tools adapted to our realities.
We are planting the seeds of a living and sustainable learning network. An online platform will host the tools produced through this process, including methodological guides, testimonies, videos, and key learnings. All of this knowledge will be open, accessible, and reusable by instructors and partner organizations.
This campaign will help ensure the long-term continuity of this initiative while strengthening the social, educational, and environmental impact of regenerative sport.
2. Youth Ambassador Support Fund
Many of our participants have shown strong motivation and potential to compete in surf, skate, and jiujitsu events. This fund will support their growth through personalized training, equipment, and travel to competitions.
Competitive sport opens real opportunities for professional athletic careers and helps create positive role models for the community. In the past, several of our young athletes have already become inspiring representatives of Lobitos, and we want to continue supporting the next generation.
Why is it important?
Lobitos faces economic and social challenges, including limited educational and professional opportunities for youth. Our programs provide safe spaces where children and teenagers can develop life skills, discover their talents, and build a positive future.
By strengthening our training programs, creating regenerative learning networks, and supporting young athletes, we are building a stronger and more hopeful community.
Our 2026 Fundraising Goal
We aim to raise 10,000 CHF to support three key areas:
- 2,000 CHF – Completion of the 20% needed for the second year of the instructor training project.
- 3,000 CHF – Development and continuity of the Regenerative Initiatives program.
- 5,000 CHF – Youth Ambassador Fund for personalized training and travel to surf, skate, and jiujitsu competitions.
