NuBeginnings Farm Store Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Due to an unexpected flash flood on August 8, 2020, we had 5 ft of water inside the building. It wrecked the fridges and laid them down or flipped them upside down, destroyed retail and all of the inventory, water in the electric panel boxes and heat pump. Kitchen is a total disaster area resembling an explosion...water heater ripped out, sink pulled up, water lines broken. 100% of food destroyed in both retail and kitchen. Right now, thanks to the helping hands from roughly 50 people, the building is emptied and the inch deep mud is washed out. We will resume cleaning tomorrow. No bodily injuries all team members are safe. But we are closed until further notice.
We deeply appreciate the many donations of trash bags, water, Gatorade, paper towels and lots of love. Taking things home to wash checking on us to make sure we are mentally ok, which is debatable today. The outpouring of love is overwhelming. Attached are pictures of the before cleanup. We’re at the point now of needing financial help to purchase material and inventory to rebuild . Anything you can do to help is appreciated, but if you can’t give please help spread the word.
