Help Amber's Family Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
On July 28, 2025, Amber’s life changed in an instant. A devoted single mother of four, Amber was at work when a fire broke out in her home. Her daughter, Kyndall, and middle son, Kiptyn, were the only one’s home at the time, along with their four beloved dogs.
What began as a simple moment, warming a brownie in the microwave, turned unexpectedly tragic. The microwave was accidentally set for 2 minutes instead of 20 seconds. Though the initial smoke was cleared with quick thinking, the paper plate and brownies were soaked and thrown away, and the house aired out.
But 30 minutes later, after Kyndall had gone to bed, she heard a faint beeping. When she opened her bedroom door, she was met with the color orange and thick smoke. She acted fast! She called 911, grabbed the dogs, and began banging on the walls and shouting for Kiptyn, who was in the shower downstairs in the basement. He was able to get out safely with the remaining dogs. The fire department arrived within 4 minutes, containing the flames to the kitchen, but heat, soot, smoke, and water damage has left the home unlivable.
By the grace of God, no one was harmed, and all four dogs were rescued.
Amber is a high school English teacher at Randleman High School, working tirelessly to support her children. She also works at Food Lion to provide extra income, especially during the summer months. Though insurance will help rebuild the house, the family has lost a lot because of the smoke and water damage, and they now face months without a home, with no long-term place to stay during the 6+ month restoration process.
Amber has always been the one to give, uplift, and love those around her. She is a God-fearing woman with unshakable faith, and even in tragedy, she is praising God that her children and pets are safe.
If you feel it in your heart to help Amber and her family during this difficult season, your donation will go toward temporary housing, clothing, and daily essentials as they rebuild their lives.
