Dear Friends, Family, and Kindred Spirits,
Imagine, for a moment, a world where every meal doesn't require a mathematical formula to calculate insulin dosages, where children can freely enjoy an ice cream without the looming fear of a blood sugar spike, where continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps are tales of the past. We are embarking on a mission to make that vision a reality and we need your help to get there.
The Challenge:
Diabetes, in both its Type 1 and Type 2 forms, has for years been a thorn in the side of millions worldwide. The chronic condition has affected people from all walks of life, irrespective of age, gender, or socio-economic status. It is not jest a disease but a lifelong challenge, with patients navigation daily struggles that most of us take for granted.
Our best defense against diabetes today consists of management through insulin therapy, dietary adjustments, and constant monitoring. Despite these measures, those afflicted remain at risk for sever complications, including heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and more.
The mission:
A small, local New Ulm group of people have come together for 9 years to organize this event because we either have diabetes ourselves, or love someone who has it. The money we raise goes through the Lions Club of New Ulm and onto the University of Minnesota, for research in finding a cure for diabetes. The road to finding a cure for diabetes is undeniable challenging, but with your support, we can bridge the gap between hope and reality. Every contribution, big or small, will bring us a step closer to a world free of the shackles of diabetes.
Light the path to hope. Join us in this monumental journey. Together, we can change the narrative of diabetes and offer a brighter, healthier future for generations to come.
With gratitude and hope,
