Brandy's fight with cancer

My name is Mandie and I’m creating this page to help my dear friend Brandy. Brandy is one of the most caring and selfless people I know. She always has a nice word to say about everyone and a smile on her face. If you are one of the lucky ones that know her there is nothing, she will not do for you.

Brandy has been under the weather for several months, after countless doctors’ appointments they determined that she had pneumonia and gave her some medication to help her breath. After a few weeks the medication wasn’t helping and she was in extreme pain and still having a hard time breathing, she went to the ER and found that her lungs were filled with fluid and one of them had partially collapsed. They did some X-rays, cleared up the fluid and eventually sent her home to have her follow up with a primary card doctor in a week. After having some issues scheduling a follow up appointment, Brandy took it upon herself to find a pulmonologist. At her initial appointment they put her on some more medication and scheduled a follow-up for a month out. A week after this appointment the pain was so intense and her breathing was getting worse, so she went back to the doctor, they admitted her to the hospital did some X-rays and found that she had multiple masses in her lungs (which again were filled with fluid) liver and one in her chest. They performed a biopsy and found that she has cancer. Unfortunately, the doctors are not able to determine the origin of the cancer, so currently they are starting aggressive chemotherapy treatment for the next 4 weeks.

The sudden onset of this disease has left Brandy unable to work currently. Long-term disability will help but it’s a decrease in pay and as a single income the unexpected expenses could potentially put a strain on her finances. All funds gathered will go directly to Brandy to cover medical and cost of living expenses. We know the road ahead is long and arduous and anything we can do to take some strain off Brandy is a blessing.
